Guangzhou dragon boats teams depart for UK festival

A departure ceremony was recently held in Tianhe district, Guangzhou, marking the official send-off of the Liede and Yangji dragon boat teams to the 2026 U.K. Chinese Dragon Boat Festival in Manchester. The teams gathered to pass paddles from hand to hand and chant in unison: "U.K., here we come!"

The teams will race side by side on the Salford Quays, bringing the spirit of Lingnan and China's dragon boat culture to a global audience.
