Seminar in Beijing offers wisdom for Global South cooperation

BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- A ministerial-level seminar on development cooperation among Global South countries was recently held in Beijing, bringing together nearly 30 senior officials and policy researchers from 12 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America.

During the seminar, Chinese experts elaborated on the country's development philosophy and shared insights into Global South countries' development needs in areas such as economic and trade cooperation, industrialization, green development, digital transformation and people-to-people exchanges.

Attendees from countries, which included Brazil, Egypt, Malaysia and South Africa, held in-depth discussions with Chinese experts on drawing wisdom from China's development experience and deepening practical cooperation.

They said that strengthening development cooperation among Global South countries is an ongoing trend and meets their shared needs for modernization, noting that China's experience in the digital economy and green development can offer useful reference for countries pursuing development paths suited to their local conditions.

The eight-day seminar was hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council and organized by the Center for International Knowledge on Development.
