China urges U.S. to stop groundless suppression of Chinese firms
BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) -- China urged the United States to stop the groundless suppression of Chinese companies, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said here on Tuesday, after the U.S. side recently listed relevant Chinese tech firms as military-related enterprises.
China firmly opposes the U.S. overstretching the concept of national security and formulating various discriminatory lists to go after Chinese businesses, spokesperson Lin Jian said at a daily press briefing in response to a related query.
"We urge the U.S. to correct its wrongdoings and stop the unwarranted suppression of Chinese businesses," Lin said, adding that China will do what is necessary to firmly protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of its companies.
