Senior Chinese official urges sustained crackdown on cross-border gambling
BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official on Thursday urged maintaining a high-pressure stance against cross-border gambling, while strengthening comprehensive and coordinated measures.
Wang Xiaohong, a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and state councilor, emphasized the urgency and importance of tackling cross-border gambling during a national video conference.
He stressed the need to focus on key cases, major fugitives, and criminal gambling networks, applying persistent and precise operations.
Wang also called for systematic approaches and stronger organizational support, along with improved mechanisms and professional capacity, to achieve greater results in combating cross-border gambling.
