China urges U.S. to cease blockade against Cuba

BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- China again urged the United States to immediately cease its blockade, sanctions and coercion in any form against Cuba, and to do more to contribute to regional peace and stability, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday.

China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security, Mao said at a regular news briefing when asked to comment on the recent threats U.S. President Donald Trump made against Cuba.
