Tens of thousands of people of all ethnic groups celebrated the water-sprinkling festival at a square in Mangshi city, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province, on April 12, 2023.
People sprinkle water on each other to pray for blessings during the traditional water-sprinkling festival, which is the biggest festival of the Dai ethnic group. The festival was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
