KARACHI, Pakistan, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese enterprises in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province donated 250,000 U.S. dollars on Thursday to the flood victims of the province.

During the handover ceremony, He Xuping, head of the Saindak Copper-Gold mine project of Metallurgical Corporation of China, told Xinhua that Chinese enterprises in Pakistan would never be disinterested while the country suffered a crisis.

"Chinese enterprises in Pakistan ... care about Pakistani brothers, and are trying to help them rebuild their homes," he added.

Talking to Xinhua on the occasion, Faisal Naseem, director of Provincial Disaster Management Authority Balochistan, thanked China for always helping Pakistan in calamity and crisis situations.

He said that it is a very positive thing that Chinese companies, on the one hand, are working for the economic development of Balochistan while on the other hand helping and supporting the local people when a natural disaster occurs in the province.

At least 256 people were killed and 166 others injured in Balochistan from this season's monsoon rains, Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said Thursday evening.

Over 9 million people and 31 districts of the province have been affected by the flooding, while 7,000 people are living in camps, according to the NDMA.
