China formally establishes first national parks (4)

China announced Tuesday its first batch of five national parks at the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.

Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park is home to about 20% of amphibians, 33% of reptiles and 38.6% of birds across the country.
