By 2 p.m. Friday, the average wholesale price of pork, a staple meat in China, went down 1.9 percent to 44.55 yuan (about 6.57 U.S. dollars) per kg, and that of eggs dipped 0.4 percent to 8.14 yuan per kg.

The average wholesale prices of 28 key types of vegetables rose 1.1 percent while that of six different types of fruits went down 3.6 percent.
