URUMQI, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region reported 31 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, the regional health commission said Saturday.
The 31 patients were all in the regional capital Urumqi, according to the commission.
The region also saw eight new asymptomatic cases in Urumqi on Friday.
As of Friday, Xinjiang had 547 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 109 asymptomatic cases, and 14,540 people were still under medical observation.
