BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday demanded that India carry out a thorough investigation into a border conflict incident, severely punish those who should be held accountable, strictly discipline Indian frontline troops, and immediate stop all provocative actions so as to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

Wang made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
