MOSCOW, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Over 100 people were evacuated from a residential building in southwestern Moscow after a fire broke out, Sputnik reported on Monday.

"A temporary accommodation center has been organized for them at the Korston Hotel," Sputnik quoted a spokesperson of the Russian Emergencies Ministry as saying.

The eight-story building is located on Leninsky Avenue, a major avenue in the Russian capital. The fire spread over an area of 2,000 square meters.
