BEIJING, April 5 (Xinhua) -- China's railways are expected to see a rebound of passenger flows during the three-day tomb-sweeping holiday as the coronavirus outbreak leveled off across the country.

April 3 and April 4 saw 3.96 million and 3.89 million railway trips, respectively, both setting a single-day record after the Spring Festival, data from the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (CSRC) showed.

The company said it will add 260 trains each day during the holiday and improve services to meet the surging demand, as well as ensure safe and orderly trips.

Tomb-sweeping Day, also known as Qingming Festival, falls on April 4 this year and is a traditional Chinese holiday when people pay tribute to deceased family and friends. Many also spend the three-day holiday traveling.
