China's Wuhan reports zero increase in COVID-19 cases

WUHAN, March 31 (Xinhua) -- No new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported Monday in Wuhan, the hardest-hit city in central China's Hubei Province.

As of Monday, Wuhan had seen zero new reports for seven consecutive days.

The province also registered no increase in new COVID-19 cases on Monday, according to the National Health Commission Tuesday.

Hubei saw one new death, which was reported in Wuhan on Monday.

The province saw 271 patients discharged from hospital after recovery Monday. Among the 1,461 patients being treated in hospital, 350 were still in severe condition and another 147 in critical condition.

Hubei has so far reported a total of 67,801 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 50,006 in Wuhan.
