VILNIUS, March 20 (Xinhua) -- A batch of medical supplies from China to help Lithuania fight COVID-19 arrived here on Friday.
Donated by Huawei and China Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, the 250 boxes of supplies include 120,000 pairs of medical gloves and 20,000 medical masks.
Ricky Chen, CEO of Huawei Baltic, told Xinhua that Huawei was very pleased to make its contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in Lithuania.
"The development of Huawei here over the past decade has been inseparable from the trust of Lithuanian partners and users. We will continue to provide excellent solutions and services to support the development of Lithuania."
At a donation ceremony held here in the afternoon, Chinese Ambassador to Lithuania Shen Zhifei encouraged more Chinese businesses to continue their efforts in supporting the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Lithuania.
He also gave full recognition to aerospace business group Avia Solutions Group for providing free transport of the goods from China to Lithuania.
On Friday morning, First Deputy Chancellor Deividas Matulionis called Ambassador Shen on behalf of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, expressing the Lithuanian government's gratitude to the Chinese government, people and companies for their solidarity and support.
According to the government, Lithuania is cooperating with China to acquire medical devices to combat COVID-19.
