
NEW YORK, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States have topped 1,000 by 11:30 p.m. EST Tuesday (0330 GMT on Wednesday), reaching 1001 with 28 deaths, according to Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) reported 696 as of 4 p.m. Monday (2000 GMT).
