WUHAN, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday said the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic will not affect the fundamentals of China's steady and long-term sound economic development.

Inspecting the epidemic prevention and control work in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, Xi called for firm and meticulous implementation of the supporting policies issued by the country and adopt targeted measures to assist enterprises, stabilize employment and create more jobs.
