BRUSSELS, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen more people were diagnosed with novel coronavirus in the Netherlands, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 38, health authorities said on Wednesday.
Four of the new confirmed patients were admitted to the hospital, while the other 11 are under home isolation, according to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
Most of the people diagnosed with the coronavirus are people who had been in northern Italy or are family contacts of a previous patient. For a few patients, the source of the infection is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
On Tuesday afternoon, RIVM reported 24 diagnoses, but reduced that number by one after new tests showed that the toddler of an infected couple in Diemen does not have the virus.
