WUHAN, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- A total of 447 patients confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) have been transferred to a special hospital for treatment in the city of Huanggang, central China's Hubei Province, the local epidemic control headquarters said.

The last patient transferred by the city's epidemic hospital arrived at the Dabieshan regional treatment center late Monday, marking the completion of the transfer of all confirmed cases in downtown Huanggang, according to the headquarters.

Another 40 suspected cases were also transferred there.

The center, which is currently equipped with 1,000 beds, will receive more confirmed and suspected cases transferred from other institutions, the headquarters said.

Neighboring the provincial capital Wuhan, where the first case of new coronavirus infection was reported in December, Huanggang is one of the cities worst hit by the epidemic. As of Monday, Huanggang had reported 1,422 confirmed infection cases.
