Chinese Premier Li Keqiang went to Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, on Monday to inspect and guide the efforts to prevent and control the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Premier Li urged authorities at all levels to prioritize the safety and health of the people and called for the strict implementation of containment measures on Sunday.

He also visited patients and medical staff.
