BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Jiangsu Dragons head coach Memi Becirovic was sent off for an altercation with a fan during his side's Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) game against Liaoning Flying Leopards on Wednesday.
During Jiangsu's 111-103 home defeat to Liaoning on Wednesday, Becirovic was seen shoving the fan before being separated by players and staff with 5:36 left to play in the third quarter.
After a video review, the referee demanded that the Slovenian coach and the fan involved leave the court, with the two continuing their spat as they departed.
Local media reports suggested that the fan had made an abusive gesture towards Liaoning's Lance Stephenson before having a verbal altercation with Becirovic's wife, who was also sitting courtside.
Becirovic now faces an automatic one-match courtside ban, which could be extended after CBA authorities have further investigated the incident.
Jiangsu sit 13th in the CBA with a 9-14 win-loss record.
