Two China pavilions to meet public in Expo 2020 Dubai

There is less than one year to go before the 2020 World Expo in Dubai opens its door for “the world’s greatest show.” For this expo, China will build two pavilions at the 4.38-square-kilometer site, according to Chinese Culture Promotion Society (CCPS), China’s largest cultural NGO.

The World Expo has been a significant platform for promoting China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The China Pavilion, which integrates Chinese elements with modern technologies, will be one of the largest pavilions at the expo site.

Apart from the China Pavilion, CCPS is planning to build the Chinese Culture Pavilion, with nearly 1,500 square meters at core zone of the expo site near the UAE and China pavilions.

By integrating China’s cultural industry with the World Expo, CCPS expects the China Culture Pavilion to be a high-end business platform for Chinese culture display, including food, incense, tourism, and other fields, building connections with governments and enterprises all over the world.

At present, CCPS has signed a final agreement on building the China Culture Pavilion with Dubai Expo 2020 Committee. Construction and decoration work will soon follow.

Expo 2020 marks a first for the Middle East, which started in 1851 with the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, London. It is also the first time that the event will involve over 190 countries and regions.

Organizers expect Expo 2020 to attract 25 million visitors, with 70% of them coming from outside the UAE during its 173 days of exhibition—the largest proportion of international visitors in the 168-year history of World Expo.
