HONG KONG, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson of the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Tuesday lodged stern representations with Reuters over a false report earlier in the day.
The spokesperson urged Reuters to respect the truth, show professionalism and a sense of responsibility and immediately stop circulating false information.
The spokesperson reiterated that Hong Kong is part of China, and Hong Kong affairs are completely China's internal affairs.
No matter how the situation in Hong Kong may evolve, the Chinese government is rock-firm in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, as well as in implementing "one country, two systems" and opposing any external interference in Hong Kong affairs, the spokesperson said.
