ISLAMABAD, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese business delegation of 22 enterprises is visiting Pakistan to communicate with local government officials and companies, seeking more cooperation opportunities under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The delegation composed of companies from various sectors including environmental protection, agriculture, infrastructure construction, information technology, logistics and healthcare visited northwest Pakistan's Peshawar on Monday and is expected to visit Lahore, Karachi and Gwadar in the following days of the week.
The head of the delegation Sha Zukang, also the president of the China-Pakistan Friendship Association, said the visit is aimed at exploring more efficient ways for Chinese enterprises especially private businesses to participate in the construction of CPEC.
"CPEC has reached great achievements and greatly benefited the Pakistani people in terms of electricity supply, infrastructure and job opportunities. Cooperation between enterprises of the two countries is a source of power for CPEC, and there is great potential for Chinese enterprises especially private companies to conduct more cooperation under CPEC," he said.
Chinese businessmen in the delegation said the visit functions as a platform for Chinese enterprises to better understand the demands and requirements of the Pakistani government and companies to seek more cooperation opportunities and enhance their confidence in investing in the country.
