
BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe on Thursday met in Beijing with Vladimir Kulishov, first deputy director of Russia's Federal Security Service and director of the Border Service.
The border defense departments of the two countries have worked closely and conducted fruitful cooperation in safeguarding security and stability in the border areas, Wei said.
Wei called on the two sides to continue their close coordination, improve their cooperation mechanism, innovate ways of cooperation, jointly address threats and challenges to border security, and create favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations.
Kulishov said Russia stands ready to work with China to further promote exchange and cooperation in various fields and at all levels so as to advance greater development of bilateral border defense cooperation.
