BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Overseas experts and scholars expressed their firm support for the Chinese government's stance on the situation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), hoping that stability and order could return to the city at an early date.

While attending the 11th BRICS summit in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia on Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping made clear stance of the Chinese government on Hong Kong's situation, saying that the most pressing task for Hong Kong at present is to bring violence and chaos to an end and restore order.

Nasser Bouchiba, president of the Africa-China Cooperation Association for Development in Morocco, expressed his hope for the restoration of social order in Hong Kong at an early date.

Bouchiba pointed out that foreign anti-China forces undermined Hong Kong's prosperity and stability by supporting a handful of violent extremists in the city.

With the support of the Chinese central government, the HKSAR government has taken appropriate countermeasures, which gives the international community more confidence in China's ability to deal with local problems, he added.

Sundarnath Bhattarai, acting chairman of China Study Center in Nepal, said violence is not acceptable in any means, and has seriously damaged Hong Kong's prosperity and stability.

Hong Kong is an integral part of China, and no external interference is acceptable, Bhattarai said, adding that attempts by external forces to prevent the rise of China will be futile.

Samer Ahmad, a Jordanian expert on China, said Xi's latest remarks on the Hong Kong situation underscored China's unwavering determination to implement the "one country, two systems" policy.

Under the policy, Hong Kong enjoys a high degree of autonomy, while enjoying the convenience and opportunities provided by the Chinese mainland, said Ahmad, who is also a writer.

The "one country, two systems" is a pioneering policy with Chinese political wisdom and has been widely accepted by the international community, he added.

Serik Korzhumbayev, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Delovoy Kazakhstan, said the Kazakh people, as good neighbors and friends of China, fully support Xi's important remarks on the situation in Hong Kong.

The Kazakh people hope that violence and chaos in Hong Kong could be stopped as soon as possible, the rule of law and social order restored, and everything back on track, Korzhumbayev said, expressing their firm confidence that the central government of China is capable of bringing stability and unity back to Hong Kong.

In the eyes of Santiago Garcia, an Ecuadorean expert on international issues, violent crime will not win popularity.

Garcia, who is also a professor at the Central University of Ecuador, said the most pressing task for Hong Kong now is to stop violence and restore order.
