HONG KONG, Nov. 8 -- A 30-year-old male was charged with attempted murder in Hong Kong on Friday after attacking Junius Ho, a lawmaker and election candidate two days ago.

Mentioned in Fanling Magistrates' Courts in the morning, the case was postponed to February 3rd as the prosecutor applied for more time for the police to make further investigations and obtain the medical report.

The defendant will be kept in custody as he did not apply for bail and the prosecutor also objected it.

The suspect stabbed Ho in the left side of his chest with a 33-cm-long knife during an election campaign event near Richland Garden, Tuen Mun, on Wednesday morning. He held a bunch of flowers to disguise his real intent when approaching the victim, the prosecutor said.

Ho was running in district council election of Lok Tsui constituency of Tuen Mun.
