URUMQI, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has rolled out an action plan to promote its manufacturing industry by fostering 20 specialized champion enterprises and 50 others with potentials to grow into champions by 2025, local authorities said.

According to the plan, Xinjiang will support these manufacturers to consolidate their positions in the global market with improved competitiveness and help raise their technical level and improve their business performance.

The regional authorities will provide guidance for the manufacturers on the subdivision of product innovation, quality promotion and brand cultivation, according to the regional department of industry and information technology.

Projects under state- and regional-level financial support will be eligible to be named as manufacturing champions, who will also enjoy preferential policy support on technical transformation and the development of strategic emerging industries.

Xinjiang has seen rapid growth of advanced equipment manufacturing in recent years, with industrial products going global. Goldwind, a leading wind turbine technology and energy solutions provider based in the region, now operates in 24 countries and regions around the world.
