SHANGHAI, Oct. 31 -- Shanghai Customs has cleared two batches of bonded diamonds which will be exhibited during the upcoming 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, the customs said Wednesday.
The diamonds, weighing 130 carats in total, came from Belgium and were declared by the subordinate customs office at the Shanghai Diamond Exchange, with each specimen weighing above three carats and one yellow cushion-cut item weighing 35.26 carats.
The precious stones varied in color and type of cut, including colorless round gems as well as colored diamonds of marquise, pear, emerald and heart cuts, according to the customs.
Diamonds and other gems were among the most popular exhibits during last year's CIIE.
