
WUHAN, Oct. 17 -- 4,399 athletes, coaches and team officials from 87 International Military Sports Council (CISM) member nations had settled in the Athletes Village of Military World Games here by Wednesday.
The 7th Military World Games, which is to open on Friday, is expected to be the largest edition ever, attracting around 10,000 athletes, coaches, team officials and supporting staff for the 10-day event.
The Village holds flag raising ceremony for each newly-coming delegation and the International Military Sports Council's anthem is played on the ceremony.
On Wednesday, 17 contingents, including the host country, were welcomed to the Village and more welcome and flag raising ceremony will be held on Thursday.
The Village has set up banks and post offices. Shops selling Hubei province specialties, souvenirs are also available. The Village medical service center has allocated 112 doctors from local hospitals, offering acupuncture therapies, medical and emergency services, and psychological counseling.
