Panchen Lama presents CPC Central Committee with Thangka painting

BEIJING, Oct. 15-- Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu, the 11th Panchen Lama, on Tuesday presented the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with a large Thangka painting in Beijing.

Entrusted by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, Ding Xuexiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, received the Thangka painting.

The 11th Panchen Lama and Tashilhunpo Monastery presented the painting on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The painting, depicting the scene of the Panchen Lama presenting Xi with a hada scarf, expresses their resolute support to the CPC, the heartfelt love for the people's leader and the love for the motherland.

Entrusted by Xi, Ding extended sincere greetings to the Panchen Lama and friends of Tibetan Buddhist circle.

Ding expressed the hope that the Panchen Lama will closely follow the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, pass on and promote the previous Panchen Lamas' honorable traditions of loving the country and the religion, and unswervingly safeguard national unity and ethnic solidarity.

He also expressed the hope that the Panchen Lama will play a leading role in promoting Tibetan Buddhism's adaptation to the socialist society.

The Panchen Lama said at the ceremony that he will unswervingly uphold the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.

He also expressed the determination in consciously safeguarding national unity and ethnic solidarity, actively contributing to socialism with Chinese characteristics and promoting social harmony and stability in Tibet.

You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the ceremony.
