(Xinhua)    09:14, September 30, 2019

HONG KONG, Sept. 29 -- Matthew Cheung, chief secretary for administration of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, said on Sunday that the SAR government will continue to have dialogues with all sectors to resolve differences in the society.

Cheung said in the latest post of his blog that Hong Kong has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past three months and the social unrest is worrying. The SAR government has been striving to stop violence, and at the same time searching for a way out by enhancing communication with the society. The first community dialogue session held on Sept. 26 was a good start.

The new policy address to be announced next month will focus on improving people's livelihood and youth development, hoping to deal with deep-seated social problems and conflicts in the society with a new mindset, the chief secretary said.

Cheung stressed that to remain prosperous and stable, Hong Kong needs solidarity and harmony in the society, and to integrate into the overall development of the country.
