
NAY PYI TAW, Sept. 27 -- Myanmar Vice President U Myint Swe has pledged to promote bilateral relations and multisectoral cooperation with China at the ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) here on Thursday.
Due to the China's efforts over the past seven decades, more than 700 million Chinese people were lifted out of poverty and it is glad to witness that China now is the world's second largest economy, the vice president said.
At present, the two countries have reached the level of comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and implemented close cooperation in many sectors as well as efforts to strengthen bilateral friendship in accordance with the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, U Myint Swe said.
Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai recalled the 70-year journey of China's development transformation as a modern socialist country and pledged that the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government will continue implementation the thought of people-centered development.
Chen Hai also said that China would like to build a community of shared future and extend closer bilateral relation with Myanmar.
