MOSCOW, Sept. 26 -- Chinese and Russian lawmakers on Wednesday exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and interaction between legislative bodies and agreed to continue their dialogue on legislative issues in the future.

The two sides held the fifth dialogue and legislative roundtable of the China-Russia committee for parliamentary cooperation at the premises of the Russian State Duma, or lower house of parliament.

During the dialogue, the legislators discussed China-Russia relations, legislative body exchanges, humanities and local cooperation, as well as further synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union.

They also touched upon coordination of the two countries in multilateral mechanisms, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS and the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments.

At the roundtable, Chinese lawmakers introduced China's laws on e-commerce and cyber security, while the Russian side focused on legislation on the supervision of cyber information and non-commercial organization.

The two sides agreed to continue to exchange views on legislative issues of common interest.

Eight representatives from the Chinese side led by Zhang Zhijun, deputy head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, and more than 10 members of the Russian parliament attended the talks.
