WUHAN, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-eight officials and managers from eight countries along the Belt and Road took part in a two-day seminar focusing on high-speed railway development in central China's Hubei Province Tuesday.

The attendees came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Zambia, Egypt, Indonesia, Nepal, Nigeria and Laos. They visited a high-speed railway vocational training base and learned about China's high-speed train operations and management, talent cultivation and technical standards.

Mario Milanovic, an official from Bosnia and Herzegovina, said he was impressed by the number of high-speed train travelers in China.

Tamer Sabet Farghaly, an economic and trade specialist from Egypt, drove a bullet train in a simulated driving training room. "China's high-speed trains have made steady progress. We want to achieve long-term cooperation with China in this field," he said.

The training base, located in Wuhan, capital of Hubei, is a professional high-speed railway training base that began operation in Sept. 2014.

More than 122,000 trainees from home and abroad have received training here, according to Wu Siqiang, an official of the training base. Among them, more than 400 were foreign trainees.
