
BEIJING, Sept. 17 -- Domestic fantasy film "Jade Dynasty" topped the Chinese mainland box office for a fourth day on Monday, the China Movie Data Information Network showed Tuesday.
"Jade Dynasty," directed by Cheng Xiaodong, follows the adventure of a young man who strives to change his destiny.
On Monday, the film took in 17.88 million yuan (2.53 million U.S. dollars) in box office revenue, taking its total box office to just shy of 300 million yuan.
In second place is the domestic comedy "The Last Wish," with a daily box office of 9.12 million yuan.
Ranked third and fourth are two animated films, "The Fist of Blue Sapphire," the 23rd full-length feature film of the long-running Japanese animated film series "Detective Conan," and the domestic animated film "The Legend of Hei."
The two films pocketed 7.89 million yuan and 5.93 million yuan in box office revenue, respectively.
