
XI'AN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua said Tuesday that China is willing to work with Euro-Asia countries to enhance bilateral cooperation to a higher level and further promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road (B&R).
Hu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks in a keynote speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the 2019 Euro-Asia Economic Forum, which was held in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
China stands ready to work with Euro-Asia countries to implement the consensus and outcomes reached at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, further expand trade cooperation and enhance infrastructure connectivity, said Hu, adding that the Euro-Asia region has become the core and demonstration area in jointly advancing B&R cooperation.
Stressing that the Chinese economy is progressing steadily, Hu said the Chinese government is committed to advancing opening-up at a higher level.
Hu expressed the hope that participants of the forum can strengthen communication and exchanges via the platform to make bigger contributions to the development and prosperity of Euro-Asia region.
