AMMAN, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Secretary General of Jordan's Communist Party Faraj Itmeiza has commended China for its great achievements in political governance, economic development and social progress over the past several decades under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
In a recent interview with Xinhua on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China -- which falls on Oct. 1, Itmeiza said these achievements have made China a powerful economic and technology nation.
He attributed China's success to the CPC's wisdom and governance, and said the achievements have earned the country worldwide appreciation, support and respect.
The Chinese people are receiving a development dividend generated from the country's progress, he said, adding that the CPC leadership focuses on the rural and the poor, and sets out special plans for agriculture development and poverty reduction.
Itmeiza said that Chinese leaders have stressed on several occasions the need to build a community with a shared future for humankind, something that would bring peace at the global level.
On the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, Itmeiza said the Arab world needs to optimally utilize the resources of the initiative and take part in it to bolster their economies.
"The initiative will boost development in the Arab world and will reduce unemployment through creating jobs ... the project will greatly help develop infrastructure in the Arab world," he said.
