BEIJING, Aug. 22 -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, started its bimonthly session Thursday morning to review multiple draft laws and revisions to laws, including a draft revision of the drug administration law and the draft resource taxes law.
Other legislative documents include draft amendments to the laws on land administration and urban real estate administration, the draft law on promotion of basic medical and health care, and draft sections on personality rights and torts of the civil code, according to the agenda.
The NPC Standing Committee will decide whether to ratify extradition treaties with Sri Lanka and Vietnam respectively. Reports of the State Council and the NPC on various topics as well as personnel issues will also be discussed.
The legislative session will run from Aug. 22 to 26.
