CHENGDU, Aug. 21 -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official You Quan has stressed greater efforts to boost ethnic solidarity and religious harmony, win the battle against poverty and promote the development of and stability in the Tibetan-inhabited areas.
You, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during an investigation and research tour in southwest China's Sichuan Province from Monday to Wednesday.
He visited communities, religious sites, and settlement sites of relocated poverty-stricken people, and talked with local people and officials during the tour to Chengdu, the provincial capital, and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture.
In China, Tibetans mainly live in the Tibet Autonomous Region and parts of Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan provinces.
