President Xi Jinping held talks with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan on Saturday.
Xi said Saturday that a basic fact remains unchanged despite changes in the international situation that China and the United States both benefit from cooperation and lose from confrontation.
In a phone conversation between the two presidents on June 18, Xi said he stood ready to meet Trump in Osaka to exchange views on fundamental issues concerning the development of China-US relations.
