Yu Xiaolan from the Nanjing School for the Deaf has become an online celebrity after people saw her innovative approach to commenting on her students' homework through cartoons, four-word idioms and ancient poetry.
Yu has been teaching at the school for 17 years since graduating from college. She learned sign language and thanks to her wholehearted devotion to the job became friends with her students. Yu says: "I want to be their friend, and help them become more adaptable when they enter the workforce."
