MACAO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Macao's airports will implement new aviation security requirements including regulation on transporting selfie stick, camera tripod and monopod, the special administrative region's Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) said on Wednesday.

AACM said Macao International Airport (MIA) and the heliport in Macao will implement a number of new aviation security requirements since March 1, which include that lighters and matches are forbidden to carry onto an aircraft.

The requirements also include that selfie stick, camera and video recorder tripod and monopod exceeding 30 cm after retraction is forbidden to put in carry-on baggage, and must be transported in checked baggage.

AACM said it has renewed the warning signs and the electronic screens for the prohibited articles and the dangerous goods. The warning videos are also broadcast on electronic screens in the airport and other border checkpoints, as well as on bus screens.

MIA has installed the ignition device in the smoking room in the terminal for the use by passengers who have passed the security screening and wish to smoke in the terminal before flight departure.
