SYDNEY, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Western Australia (WA) will feature in season 2 of a Chinese hit reality TV show, Viva La Romance, with the show's stars spotted filming on the state's picturesque coast throughout the week.
Enjoying grand success in its first season, with over 1.6 billion viewers, the show takes the wives from five Chinese celebrity couples, and films them while on holiday for the husbands to watch, with the aim of improving their relationships.
It appears that this year Australia is the location for the wive's vacation, which reportedly took them to the areas of Rockingham, Rottnest Island and Busselton.
Although the new season couples are yet to be officially revealed to Chinese audiences, local media have reported that amongst the five women was Memoirs of a Geisha star, actress Zhang Ziyi, Hong Kong actress Anita Yeng and Chinese TV host Xie Na.
Local government officials hope that when the show goes to air, the exposure will be a boost for Chinese visit to the region, which is sometimes overlooked by international travellers favouring the east coast.
"Tourism WA will be working with Chinese travel agents to convert the exposure into bookings," WA Tourism Minister Paul Papalia told local media.
