
HOUSTON, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese Spring Festival gala is going to be staged in February in Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, the organizer said at a press briefing on Sunday.
The gala, performed by artists from the Greater Houston area, will be the largest of its kind in Houston.
Deputy Chinese Consul General in Houston Liu Hongmei said at the briefing that the gala will be "a good way to express the thoughts on the loved hometown, the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and the good wishes to the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year."
According to the organizer, the gala will feature singing, dancing, Peking opera and traditional instrument playing. Several local art groups will participate in the performance.
