Shan Tianfang
Renowned Chinese storyteller master Shan Tianfang died on Tuesday at the age of 84, media reported.
Shan, born on December 17, 1934 in Yingkou, Liaoning Province, is a Chinese storyteller and writer. He began to tell stories in 1954. In 2012, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 7th China Quyi Peony Awards.
Storytelling, or Pingshu in Chinese, is one of the forms of entertainment in China. It is an ancient Chinese traditional oral art which became popular in the Song Dynasty. Storytellers from all over the world tell stories in their native language.
