China's Ministry of Commerce has announced that senior economic officials are set to visit the United States for talks on trade issues later this month.
It says Chinese vice commerce minister Wang Shouwen will lead a delegation and meet with U.S. under-secretary of the Treasury David Malpass.
Chinese authorities reiterated their stance of opposing unilateralism and protectionism in global trade and refuse to accept unilateral trade restrictions.
Chinese officials called for talks and negotiations based on equality and mutual trust to ease the current trade tensions.
