She and her adopted parents began searching for her birth parents in April.
They put out information noting that she became lost at the age of 5 in Zhongshan, and was later given the name Zhong Fengmin. In 2012 she was adopted by an American couple, and now set to begin studying at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
A man living in the city of Foshan, Liang Hua, later identified the girl as his missing daughter, Liang Jinglang.
DNA matching has confirmed this, with the girl meeting with her birth parents on the weekend after 13 years.
