Chinese sharing bike giant Mobike has announced that users in another 100 Chinese cities will no longer have to pay a deposit before using the service, reports thepaper.cn.

The plan covers most second and third tier cities in China. However, China's first tier cities - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen - are still not part of that policy.

It's been reported that users in these new 100 cities are now able to get their deposit money back through the Mobike app or by leaving a comment on the company's official Wechat and Weibo accounts.

Other major sharing bike companies in China have already introduced no-deposit policy for their users.

Mobike currently provides service in a total of 176 Chinese cities and 11 overseas cities, including Singapore, Manchester and Washington.

Meanwhile, Mobike has established a new credit system to encourage users to use the sharing bikes in a more civilized way.

Users who park according to the instructions will gain more credit points and are more likely to gain rewards, such as free rides.
