A Chinese military delegation, consisting of border troops of the Western Theater of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), will pay a visit to India in the near future, according to the Chinese Ministry of Defense.

The Chinese and Indian sides are consulting on the visit, said Ren Guoqiang, a spokesperson for the ministry on Thursday.
The meetings and exchanges at different military ranks of the Chinese and Indian militaries will enhance management of the China-India border, increase mutual trust between Chinese and Indian border troops and put the consensus reached by the Chinese and Indian leaders into practice, Ren added.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an informal meeting in Wuhan on April 27th and 28th, following a tense military stand-off along the China-India border for over two months last year. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou indicateed the informal summit created a new model of communication between the Chinese and Indian leaders.
